Aspire provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury. Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support allowing people with spinal injury to lead their fulfilled and independent lives where possible in their homes, with their families, in their workplace and in leisure time.
The Aspire Law Emergency Grant Fund provides emergency financial support to those who have recently sustained a spinal cord injury.

Attend ABI is a service designed to support adults who have an acquired and non-progressive brain injury. It aims to support individuals to build confidence particularly through the development of new experiences and networks. The service is aimed at clients who have substantially completed their medical rehabilitation but who do not feel ready, or need additional support, to engage meaningfully with their local community.

Avenues Group specialises in supporting people with complex needs and behaviour challenges to live better lives. They provide support and case management services for people with an acquired brain injury. The regional base is located in Ipswich, however they provide residential and outreach supported living services across the region. All support services are built around the individual to their needs. The service provides a consistent environment that will increase life skills and independence, while also focusing on re-establishing and developing social aspects of life, whether relationships with family and friends, or regular outdoor social activities.
Back Up deliver a range of services to build confidence and independence back into people’s lives, and offering a support network when it is needed most. Their outreach team deliver vital wheelchair skills training in hospitals and spinal centres, and contact people once they return home, offering an understanding ear and practical advice. Back Up is led by volunteers who are all affected by spinal cord injury, and they will support you to adjust and live your life to the full.

BASIC offers pioneering rehabilitation programmes to those who have suffered from life changing brain and spinal injuries. They provide support and advice to patients, carers and families.

The Brain and Spine foundation provide expert services for people at every stage, from first symptoms, diagnosis, treatments and in the long term. Many people wait a long time for a diagnosis while living with ongoing symptoms and the anxiety of not knowing what the future holds. The Brain & Spine Foundation exists to provide tailored advice and support, answer questions, reduce anxiety and inform choices to those affected by neurological problems, their family, friends and carers.
Brain Injury Is Big provides emotional support over the telephone, via online forum, on social media, and through regular meets ups. They can also provide financial assistance through grant schemes, for travel costs to hospital, to put towards therapy sessions or necessary equipment.

The Disabilities Trust is a leading UK charity providing support for people with complex needs. This group includes the British Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT). BIRT provides residential and day services to meet the needs of individuals with Autism, Brain Injury, Physical Disability and Learning Disability. They also provide care and support to enable living in the community and support at home.

Headway provides a free telephone helpline, comprehensive website, booklets and publications, 125 local user groups, rehabilitation services, and an emergency fund to help with the immediate financial implications of a brain injury. Headway can also arrange a Brain Injury Identity Card to help with everyday situations and provide a directory of residential care, respite facilities and rehabilitation services that specialise in acute brain injuries.

QEF is a national charity committed to providing life-transforming services that enable people with disabilities to increase their independence and achieve their goals in life. They work with over 5,000 children and adults every year with physical or learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Whether it’s gaining new skills to live independently, rehabilitation after a brain injury or stroke, or improving independence through increased mobility and accessible holidays; QEF helps disabled people to fulfil their potential in life. Based in Banstead, Surrey the centre has capacity for up to seventeen residential clients, each of whom are supported with a personalised treatment plan and 24 hour nursing care. Services are also available on a day and outpatient basis. As well as neurological rehabilitation, they provide independent living, mobility, care and rehabilitation centre and equipment services.
The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) offers advice, information and guidance for spinal cord injured people. It also provides training to professionals and campaigns for change in policy. For newly injured people or those being re-admitted to hospital, SIA Spinal Cord Injury Nurses are available to help plan your discharge, care and immediate rehabilitation. They work in partnership with the NHS and will liaise with NHS healthcare practitioners to ensure you recieve the best possible service from the NHS.

Spinal Track offers free circuit and rally driving experiences to those who require adaptions to drive. They use track prepared Golf GTIs on the full GP circuit at Silverstone and rally prepared GT86s and BMWs on the rally stage at Turweston Aerodrome. There is a waiting list and they require a deposit from you to secure your position on a day.
The Brain Charity champions neurodiversity and helps anyone affected by a neurological condition to pick up the pieces so they can rebuild their lives and achieve their potential.

The Neurological Alliance is the collective voice for 80 organisations working together to make life better for millions of people in England with a neurological condition from their first symptoms to throughout their life. They have a list of organisations that provide information and support and carry out research into neurological conditions. These organisations aim to inform and advise patients, carers and other people affected by a neurological condition whilst also aiming to raise awareness and understanding of neurological conditions.

The UKABIF have produced a patient directory that includes information about corporate and non-profit members of UKABIF who are care providers, voluntary organisations, case managers and companies providing independent therapy. The directory includes both national and some international services, you can search by the name of the organisation or the region.
Brachial plexus is a complex network of nerves, coming from the spinal cord that supplies the arm, hand and part of the shoulder with all its movement and feeling. Many people need help coming to terms with a Brachial Plexus injury and how to live with it. The website operated by Trauma Brachial Plexus Injury Group (TBPIG) is designed to provide adults with information and support in coping with a TBPI and to help achieve a better understanding of the impact these injuries may have on the individual and their family.

The Silverlining Charity supports adults who have sustained a brain injury, their family members and their carers. Their services are also open to professionals and volunteers who are keen to learn, support and get involved. They understand the effects of brain injury and so create activities, events and environments that are inclusive and look to enable all.

The services are designed to offer the clinical benefits of continued and collaborative physical and cognitive rehabilitation in a community setting where Silverlining members are able to develop a sense of purpose, pride and direction after. The charity runs a wide range of different fun social activities and services across local groups where brain injury survivors can come together to share and learn from each other. All activities are designed to be suitable and open to everyone, and they are offered to our members either free of charge or at cost price.
